Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has, over recent decades, expanded from a static tool to become a dynamic enabler, rapidly merging with and becoming indispensable to human and corporate systems. The meshing of these complex structures has created powerful system dynamics which challenge the approaches, tools and standards utilised by traditional management methods. The identification and control of all of the necessary interactions is a complicated maze of decision making to achieve agreed outcomes.
This site provides clarification for the novice and experienced practitioner of one of these approaches, Risk Management, by offering unambiguous information, tools and templates. Though this site is focused on Project Management the principles of Risk Management are a valuable tool for all managers.
The authors of this site have aimed at taking Risk Management from the traditional one dimensional method and approach it with the dynamic world of complex systems in mind. We discuss methods for understanding and dealing with complex interrelated problems and provide tools with additional functionality. These “wicked problems” are difficult if not impossible to solve due to the changing requirements, incomplete information and hard to grasp interdependencies.
With solid experience in the large scale ICT Project Management, Risk Management and Decision Making areas this site is the culmination of many years of experience, training and academic rigor. Applied research coupled with experience ensures value in achieving better project outcomes.
